France intercepts oil tanker south of Reunion Island

PARIS, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday that the French Navy had intercepted an oil tanker more than 450 nautical miles south of Reunion Island earlier in the day. In a post on social media X, Macron said the tanker was suspected of sailing under a false flag and being involved in illicit fuel transport activities.
