Over 50% of Germans Support Merz’s Resignation – Poll

MOSCOW, September 22 (RIA Novosti) - As many as 55% of German citizens believe German Chancellor Friedrich Merz should resign following the defeat in the state parliament election in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a Forsa poll for RTL and ntv found on Tuesday. Another 40% of those asked wanted Merz to remain in office, the poll found. It also showed that the chancellor is significantly less popular in eastern Germany than in the western part.
