UN Tourism lowers 2026 global international arrivals growth forecast to 1-2 pct

MADRID, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- UN Tourism on Thursday lowered its forecast for growth in global international tourist arrivals in 2026 to between 1 percent and 2 percent, from the 3-4 percent projected in January, as conflict in the Middle East and rising travel costs weigh on momentum. The latest edition of the World Tourism Barometer showed that international tourist arrivals rose by just 0.4 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2026. Aro......
