Belarus GDP grows by 1.9 pct in Jan.-Aug. period

MINSK, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.9 percent in the first eight months of 2026, the National Statistical Committee said on Thursday. The preliminary estimate showed that the GDP volume at current prices reached 209.1 billion Belarusian rubles (about 68.8 billion U.S. dollars), representing 101.9 percent of the level recorded in the same period of 2025 in comparable prices.
