BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- China's producer price index (PPI), which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, went up 3.8 percent year on year in August, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Wednesday. On a month-on-month basis, the PPI reversed a 0.7-percent decline in July to rise 0.4 percent in August, NBS data showed.
