The International Monetary Fund's board on Wednesday approved a two-year flexible credit line of $11.8 billion for Chile, reducing the amount available from a previous arrangement due to strengthened buffers. Chile was initially granted a credit line under a similar arrangement in May 2020 for an amount of roughly $24 billion.
