Season over for Germany's Mihambo after thigh injury

Berlin (dpa) - Olympic long jump champion Malaika Mihambo has been forced to end her season early due to a thigh injury, the German Athletics Association (DLV) said in a statement on Sunday. The German suffered the injury during her fifth and final jump at the Diamond League event in Katowice, Poland, on Saturday and subsequently had to be treated at a hospital, DLV said.
