Germany aware of Ukrainian soldiers deserting during training

Berlin (dpa) - The German Defence Ministry confirmed on Friday that it is aware of cases of Ukrainian soldiers who have deserted whilst undergoing training in Germany. "The Federal Ministry of Defence is aware that, in isolated cases, members of the Ukrainian armed forces have left while undergoing training in Germany," a spokeswoman for the German military's Special Training Command in Strausberg near Berlin said in response to an enquiry.
