At least nine people were killed and several others injured after a fire broke out at a hotel in India's West Bengal state on Wednesday, a fire department official told AFP. "Nine people were killed in the fire that broke out early on Wednesday," the official said, asking not to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media.
