Vandals Desecrate World War II Memorial in Washington

WASHINGTON, August 14 (RIA Novosti) - Vandals defaced part of the World War II memorial in Washington, DC, with paint, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported. The memorial, located on the National Mall in the center of the US capital, features 56 columns on either side of an oval plaza, symbolizing the states and territories of the United States.
