MOSCOW, August 13 (RIA Novosti) - The right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has overtaken Chancellor Friedrich Merz's Christian Democratic Union (CDU) by 26 percentage points in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ahead of the September 20 state parliament elections, according to an INSA poll for the Nordkurier newspaper published on Thursday.
