Japanese Defense Ministry Defends Bolstering Counterstrike Capabilities

TOKYO, August 4 (RIA Novosti) - The Japanese Defense Ministry argued in its annual Defense of Japan 2026 White Paper that growing missile threats required it to have counterstrike capabilities. "If we continue to rely solely on missile defense, it will become difficult to fully respond to threats using the existing missile defense systems alone," the report said.
