1st LD-Writethru: Chinese shares close higher Tuesday

BEIJING, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.33 percent to 3,822.28 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 3.25 percent higher at 13,885.71 points. The combined turnover of stocks covered by these two indices stood at around 2.21 trillion yuan (about 325.4 billion U.S. dollars), up from 2 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
