More typhoons to make landfall in China in August

BEIJING, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- China is expected to see 2 to 3 typhoons making landfall or bringing notable impacts in August, according to the latest climate forecast made by meteorological authorities on Tuesday. The number is roughly in line with the historical average of 2.3 for the month, but the overall intensity of typhoons is expected to be stronger than usual, Jia Xiaolong, deputy head of the National Climate Center, told a press confere......
