U.S. stocks close higher

NEW YORK, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended materially higher on Monday as oil prices declined after U.S. President Donald Trump called off planned military strikes against Iran. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 693.38 points, or 1.32 percent, to 53,178.41. The S&P 500 added 110.78 points, or 1.48 percent, to 7,600.5. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 540.04 points, or 2.13 percent, to 25,913.9. Eight of the 11 primary S&P 500......
