US Navy Awards $76.6Bln Deal for 14 Nuclear Submarines

MOSCOW, July 30 (RIA Novosti) - The US navy issued a landmark $76.6 billion contract package to General Dynamics Electric Boat and Huntington Ingalls Inc. (HII), Newport News Shipbuilding on July 29, ordering 14 nuclear submarines, including $42​​​.1 billion for nine Block VI Virginia-class attack vessels and $29.5 billion for five Columbia-class ballistic missile submarines, the companies said in separate statements.
