Meatco posts N$40.5 million profit despite 53% drop in cattle throughput

WINDHOEK, 27 JUL (NAMPA) - Meatco recorded a profit after tax of N$40.5 million for the year ended 31 January 2026, despite a 53% decline in cattle throughput.
The corporation said in a statement on Sunday that cattle processed south of the Veterinary Cordon Fence fell from 75 268 to 35 594, which Meatco attributed to drought and the rebuilding of the national herd. Group revenue declined from N$1.8 billion to N$1.1 billion.
