Over 3.3Mln Hectares of Canadian Land Lost to Wildfires Since January - Forest Fire Center

WASHINGTON, July 22 (RIA Novosti) - Over 3.3 million hectares (8.2 million acres) of land in Canada have been lost to wildfires since January 2026, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Center (CIFFC). As of Wednesday, there are 902 active wildfires, including 24 ignited today, and 199 deemed out of control, the CIFFC's latest data shows.
