US Offered Iran Billions in Withheld Assets to Relinquish Claims Over Hormuz - Reports

WASHINGTON, July 2 (RIA Novosti) - The United States offered Iran to unlock billions of dollars worth in withheld assets in exchange for Tehran to abandon its claims over the Strait of Hormuz, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. The trade-off was offered by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner during negotiations through mediators in Doha, Qatar, the report said.
