Artistic director of the Berlin Philharmonic to step down in 2028

Berlin (dpa) - The artistic director of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra is stepping down in August 2028, the orchestra and the Berlin city administration's Department for Culture announced on Monday. Andrea Zietzschmann will not be renewing her contract for a third term, they said. "After 11 years in office, it will be time for me to embark on a new path in 2028," Zietzschmann, 55, explained.
