Ngurare orders ring-fence on food-for-work as government hunts N.dollars 2.3 billion in savings

WINDHOEK, 08 JUN (NAMPA) – Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare on Monday ordered government officials not to cut food-for-work and cash-for-work programmes as ministries identify the N.dollars 2.3 billion in annual savings required to bring Namibia’s fiscal deficit down.
The target is to bring deficit down from 5.5 per cent to 3.3 per cent of gross domestic product by 2028/29.
