Venezuela's prisons ministry on Thursday acknowledged the death in custody of a political prisoner, nearly a year after his passing and after his mother spent months searching for him. The ministry said that Victor Hugo Quero Navas, who was arrested in January 2025, died on July 24, 2025 of respiratory failure caused by a pulmonary embolism.
