Berlin (dpa) - Tens of thousands of jobs were cut in Germany's flagship automotive industry last year, according to estimates released on Tuesday. Preliminary data from the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) showed that about 726,000 people were employed in the sector in Germany in 2025, nearly 47,000 fewer than a year earlier and almost 107,000 fewer than in 2019.
