Taiwan Begins Underwater Trials of Domestically Produced Submarine – Reports

BEIJING, January 30 (RIA Novosti) - Taiwan has commenced underwater trials of its first domestically produced submarine, the Hai Kun, which will be conducted in phases, the Taipei Times newspaper reported on Friday. The underwater drills will start with tests at depths of 10-20 meters (33-66 feet) and culminating in dives to depths of 50 to 100 meters.
