Kabende elected as Katima Mulilo mayor

KATIMA MULILO, 05 December 2025 - Bernard Sisamu, the Constituency Councillor for Kabbe North was elected as Chairperson of the Management Committee of the Zambezi Regional Council while two newly elected councillors, Vincent Sinalumbu of the Judea Lyabboloma constituency and Rector Matengu Nkando of the Sibbinda constituency were elected to serve in the Management Committee. Raymond Sezuni who has served in the constituency office for five months following his by-election victory in June this year and Progress Sipapela the newly elected constituency councillor for Linyanti Comstituency as well as Kennedy Simasiku for Katima Mulilo Urban Constituency were elected to serve in the National Council as Members of Parliament. KATIMA MULILO, 06 DEC (NAMPA) - Kabende Kabende was on Friday elected as the new mayor of the Katima Mulilo Town Council after an official swearing-in ceremony that was presided over by Magistrate Davy Kambinda.
The Swapo Party secured a majority, winning five of the seven seats on the town council. Kabende, who was fifth on the party's list, was voted in as mayor and will be deputised by Charity Matongo-Mabuku.

KATIMA MULILO, 05 December 2025 - Youthful Kabende Kabende was on Friday elected as the new Mayor of the Katima Mulilo Town Council (KMTC) after an official swearing in ceremony that was presided over by Magistrate Davy Kambinda. He will be deputised by Charity Matongo - Mabuku. Nsala Muhongo was elected as the Chairperson of the Management Committee. Other Management Committee members include Royd Likando and Kamwi Mazila - all from the Swapo Party.
