A former member of a Gambian death squad suspected of shooting AFP's correspondent in the west African country in 2004 was charged with murder Wednesday, according to an AFP journalist who observed his arraignment in Banjul. Sanna Manjang, who was arrested on Saturday in neighbouring Senegal, was charged with two counts of murder for shooting longtime AFP journalist Deyda Hydara as well as another individual.
