Munich residents vote in favour of Olympics bid

Munich (dpa) - Munich residents have voted in favour of the German city bidding to host the Olympics in 2036, 2040 or 2044. In a referendum held on Sunday, 60% of those who voted said "yes" to the city hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Mayor Dieter Reiter said citing initial results. "This is a good day for Munich," he said, while Jörg Ammon, the head of the Bavarian State Sports Association spoke of a "dream result." It remains to be see......
