French Senate President Vows to Reinstate Pension Reform If Suspended by Lower House

MOSCOW, October 25 (RIA Novosti) - The French Senate will reinstate the pension reform as part of the 2026 social security budget review if the lower-house National Assembly votes to suspend it, Senate President Gerard Larcher said. On Tuesday, President Emmanuel Macron said that he did not rule out holding a referendum on the pension reform, a controversial issue that he admitted could not be resolved through compromise on the 2026 draft budget.......
