British car industry remains under pressure, trade group says

London (PA Media/dpa) - The British car industry remains under "immense pressure," a trade group has said, after new figures showed a 27% fall in production last month compared to a year ago. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said 51,090 cars left factory gates in September. The production stoppage at JLR, Britain's biggest automotive employer, caused by an unprecedented cyber incident, was largely responsible for the decline,......
