U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar strengthened in late trading on Monday. The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.39 percent to 98.107 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT). In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1713 dollars from 1.1740 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to 1.3482 dollars from 1.3480 dollars in the previous session.
