Organ donations rising in Germany, but 8,100 patients still waiting

Magdeburg, Germany (dpa) - A total of 2,025 human organs were transplanted in Germany in the first eight months of this year, up on the comparable figure for last year of 1,909 and that for 2023 of 1,967, the DSO transplant foundation has reported. The DSO, which was holding an event in the eastern city of Halle on Saturday to thank donors, said the figures did not include live donations.
