S. Korean banks' household lending rises for 6th month in July

SEOUL, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- South Korean banks' household lending rose for the sixth straight month due to strong demand for mortgage loan, the central bank's data showed Wednesday. Debt owed by households to deposit-taking banks totaled 1,164.2 trillion won (841.3 billion U.S. dollars) at the end of July, up 2.8 trillion won from a month earlier, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
