SWAKOPMUND, 04 JUL (NAMPA) – The economic and strategic potential of Uis Settlement was highlighted as the Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Evelyn Nawases-Taeyele, declared the settlement “open for business” and ready to reclaim its town status.
Situated in the Daures Constituency, Uis was established in 1958 and is historically renowned for its tin mining industry. It currently has a population of approximately 5 500 residents.
