Germany's Klingbeil plans to spend 3.5% of GDP on defence by 2029

Berlin (dpa) - German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil has planned for defence expenditure to reach 3.5% of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2029, dpa learnt on Monday. Klingbeil is set to borrow more than ?170 billion ($195 billion) for the national budget over the next two years, according to sources.
