Russia sets record in poverty reduction: Putin

ST. PETERSBURG, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Russia has set up a historic poverty reduction milestone, President Vladimir Putin said Friday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). "We've seen a record decline in Russia's poverty rate throughout the country's history," Putin told attendees during a plenary session of SPIEF 2025. The president noted that in 2000, about 42.3 million or 29 percent of Russians lived below the poverty......
