NKURENKURU, 11 JUN (NAMPA)- The body of 17-year-old Epafras Musese Hasindi, a learner at Nkurenkuru Combined School who reportedly jumped into the river at Kafuma Village on Saturday, was recovered today after days of persistent searching.

Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga confirmed the discovery, stating that the body was found at Kahenge in the Kavango River at around 10h30.

It is alleged that the deceased jumped from a platform at the river in Kafuma Village for unknown reasons and drowned.

The police were alerted by the community and confirmed the incident on site through information provided by his schoolmates, who were with him at the time of the incident.

Muronga further stated that a search operation had been ongoing since the day of the incident, carried out by the Police Water Wing Unit and some family members.

Next of kin have been informed, and the body was transported to the Nkurenkuru police mortuary for further handling and a pending autopsy.
