KALIMBEZA, 31 MAY (NAMPA) - The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Ruthy Masake, on Friday undertook a familiarisation visit to the Kalimbeza Green Scheme Irrigation Project in the Zambezi region.
During her engagement with staff members at the project, Masake, while commending the team, emphasised that specialised crop farming like rice contributes directly to the national goals for food security.

KALIMBEZA, 30 May 2025 - Kalimbeza Green Scheme Irrigation Project has harvested a total of 108 tons of raw rice that is kept in the warehouse at Kalimbeza.  Out of this 108 tons,  77 is of the short term Irga raw rice variety that was planted on a 30 hectors piece of land while the other 31 tons is of the long term Supper raw rice that was planted on the eight (8) hectors of land last October.
