Latvia joins UN outer space treaty

RIGA, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Latvia has officially joined the Outer Space Treaty, the foundational United Nations agreement governing peaceful space activities, the Foreign Ministry announced on Friday. The treaty, signed in 1967 and now ratified by 116 countries, promotes peace, cooperation, and responsible behavior in outer space.
