A Russian court on Friday fined an elderly survivor of the Leningrad Siege during World War II for holding up a placard calling for peace as Russia's campaign in Ukraine grinds on. The court in the northern city of Saint Petersburg fined the 84-year-old 10,000 rubles ($125) on a charge of "discrediting" the Russian army, it said in a statement.
