Finnish Defense Forces Begin Military Exercises Near Russian Border, in Gulf of Finland

MOSCOW, May 21 (RIA Novosti) - Military land exercises involving 3,500 troops began in Finland near the Russian border on Wednesday, while the Finnish navy began maneuvers in the Gulf of Finland involving three NATO countries. Finnish land forces said that around 3,500 troops will take part in the Lively Sabre exercise from May 21 to May 31 in Eastern Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso, an area bordering Russia.
