Syria's interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa will not attend an upcoming Arab League summit in Baghdad, the Syrian presidency said on Monday, with Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani to represent Damascus at the event. An Arab diplomatic source had earlier told AFP on condition of anonymity that the Iraqi government had invited Sharaa for the meeting planned for Saturday but that he would not attend.
