Italy's UniCredit reports highest ever quarterly profit

Frankfurt (dpa) - Italian bank UniCredit has made a strong start to the year amid its ongoing battle to take over Germany's Commerzbank. The Milan-based institution on Monday posted a quarterly net profit of ?2.8 billion ($3.1 billion), the highest in its history.
