German FA lawyer rejects tax evasion, acknowledges concealed payment

Frankfurt (dpa) - The German Football Federation's lawyer has rejected allegations of tax evasion as its trial resumed on Monday, but acknowledged that the sum in question was a concealed repayment of a controversial loan. Prosecutors believe the federation (DFB) paid world football's governing body FIFA ?6.7 million in April 2005 as part of a complicated string of payments.
