Head-on collision in Kavango West leaves drivers and passengers injured

NKURENKURU, 13 JAN (NAMPA) – The police in the Kavango West Region are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving after two Toyota pick-ups collided head-on Sunday afternoon.
Deputy Commissioner Elsavador Ndeunyema of the Namibian Police Force told Nampa the accident occurred around 12h30 on a gravel road at Gana village in the Musese Constituency.
According to initial findings, a white Toyota pick-up from the Directorate of Education for Kavango West was traveling south to north when it collided with a beige Toyota pick-up driving in the opposite direction. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
The driver of the white Toyota, a 32-year-old licensed male, and the driver of the beige Toyota, a 56-year-old unlicensed male, were among those injured. All occupants in both vehicles were transported to Bunya Health Centre and later referred to the Rundu State Hospital for further treatment.
Police investigations are ongoing.
