NKURENKURU, 28 NOV (NAMPA)- Eight homesteads at Katwitwi settlement in the Kavango West Region were destroyed during a storm on Wednesday.
Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga of the Namibian Police Force in the Kavango West Region confirmed the incident to Nampa, saying it occurred around 14h00.
Heavy rains accompanied by strong wind destroyed at least eight homesteads, leaving families members without shelter.
Muronga further said some houses were flooded, documents destroyed, and all food items in the houses spoiled.
Efforts are being made by the police to inform authorities for assistance for the affected families, said Muronga.
