Shangula dispels mpox rumours

WINDHOEK, 27 AUG (NAMPA) – Health and Social Services Minister, Dr Kalumbi Shangula has confirmed that a patient suspected of having mpox (monkeypox) tested negative, after sample results returned from South Africa on Saturday.
The patient, a Namibian national, reportedly travelled to Botswana and South Africa and returned with symptoms.
“The test results came back negative two days ago,” Shangula said in an interview with Nampa on Monday.
