SWAKOPMUND, 16 AUG (NAMPA) - Plans are underway to upgrade Uis settlement to local authority status following submissions by the Erongo Regional Council to the Minister of Urban and Rural Development.
This was revealed by Erongo Governor Neville Andre Itope during his State of the Region Address on Thursday.
Uis has less than 4 000 inhabitants and was downgraded from village to settlement status in 2010.
