Light earthquake hits Namibia

OPUWO, 26 MAY (NAMPA) – The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) on Tuesday announced that a 4.7 magnitude earthquake has hit Namibia at approximately 28 kilometres (km) north of Halali on Sunday afternoon.
MME Geological Survey Deputy Executive Director, Gloria Simubali in a media statement said the light earthquake which struck at 16h42 was recorded by eight seismic stations of the Namibian Seismology Network - Tsumeb, Kamanjab, Opuwo, Gobabis, Rundu, Karibib, Aus and Ariamsvlei.
