(251226) -- XI'AN, Dec. 26, 2025 (Xinhua) -- Passengers line up for ticket check at Fuping South Railway Station along the Xi'an-Yan'an high-speed railway in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, on Dec. 26, 2025. A sleek silver bullet train departed Yan'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Friday, linking the sacred revolutionary heartland to the country's rapidly expanding high-speed rail network.
The newly opened 299-km line connects Yan'an with Xi'an, the provincial capital and home to the famed Terracotta Warriors, slashing travel time between the two cities from about 2.5 hours to roughly one hour.
Designed for operations of up to 350 km per hour, the line marked the fastest train running on the Loess Plateau. (Xinhua/Li Yibo)

(FILES) A man reads North Korea's Rodong Sinmun newspaper, which includes an article (centre, 2nd from bottom) on the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, on a digital monitor displayed in the Kaeson Station of the Pyongyang Metro in Pyongyang on January 22, 2025. South Korea said on December 26 it will reclassify North Korea's long-banned state newspaper as general information, easing public access, in the latest overture from the administration of dovish President Lee Jae Myung. Seoul's government convened on December 26 an inter-agency meeting and confirmed a consensus among the relevant parties regarding the "reclassification of the Rodong Sinmun newspaper from special material to general material", it said in a statement.
