MANAGER: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA) is looking for Manager: Finance and Administration who will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The job role is directly accountable for the Financial Strategy of NAMPA and to provide strategic leadership and direction to the Company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides strategic financial and asset management to all divisions
  • Ensure all accounting procedures are followed as per Agency’s financial policy.
  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to all heads of departments within the Agency.
  • Compile and monitor the Agency’s budgets and provide status on current standings of the Agency’s budget to the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Present operational budget to the Chief Executive Officer for approval by the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure that (monthly) subsidy is requested on time from the Line Ministry.
  • Prepare financial statements for Audit purposes during the audit period.
  • Calculate and complete VAT returns
  • Invest reserve funds in instruments approved by the Board of Directors to ensure safety of the Agency’s funds.
  • Compiles and submits monthly reports to the management
  • Manages debtor and creditor performance
  • Sets, implements and monitors the internal control procedures relating to asset management
  • Evaluates cash flow and makes recommendations
  • Manages overall daily operations of the Finance Division. Responsible for staff development and on-the-job training
Abilities Requirements:
  • Must have a high level of integrity, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Proven track record on Finance business strategies
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • B.Com Degree with Accounting or equivalent qualification with completed Articles.
  • CIMA or CA will be added advantage
  • Knowledge of ICT Industry will be added advantage.
  • Proven record of Pastel and D-bit
  • At least five (5) years’ experience at Senior Management level.

MANAGER: EDITORIAL

Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA) is looking for Manager: Editorial who will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The job role is directly accountable for the Editorial Strategy of NAMPA and to provide strategic leadership and direction to the Editorial department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that overall objectives of the Editorial department of NAMPA are met as scheduled.
  • Prepare and submit Operational Strategic Plan to the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Ensure that NAMPA's Editorial department operates in compliance with all relevant legislations, policies and procedures.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Chief Executive Officer on activities of the Editorial department during the period under review.
  • Ensure sound financial performance of the Editorial department.
  • Ensure timely drafting of Editorial budget before the commencement of the new financial year.
  • Spearhead the development of new products and services in response to identified niche market and customer needs.
  • Ensure qualify productions and improvement of Editorial products and services.
  • Foster sound negotiations with external service providers and clients, formulate and sign contracts/agreements as a representative of the Editorial department.
Abilities Requirements:
  • Must have a high level of integrity, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Proven track record on Editorial business strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of news products and associated technologies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Degree in Journalism/Media studies or equivalent qualification.
  • At least seven (7) years' experience in Journalism and editing of which three (3) years should be at newsroom management level.
